    Responsibilities

    SUMMARY
    As part of a small team of food innovators and trend setters, the successful candidate will be on the cutting edge of food science and technology. Keeping up on the latest research and trends he/she will create incredible plant-based products that will show consumers what plants can do!

     

    JOB DUTIES

     

    • Perform new product development that require knowledge and experience in both new processing technologies and product formulation
    • Developments will run the entire gamut from hands-on bench scale trials to commercialization of new products and the processes needed for their cost-effective manufacture
    • Ability to integrate process knowledge & expertise into new product developments
    • Conduct internal sensory evaluations to determine acceptability of product Creates and maintains formulations, specifications, processes, and testing procedures
    • Conducts lab experiments and line trials within the manufacturing facilities to ensure accuracy of process and quality of product
    • Resolve roadblocks in product development and assist with new product launches
    • Stays current on new food processing technologies
    • Collaborate with Marketing to develop new products that match targeted consumer preferences

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering or equivalent with substantial food experience
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in new food product development and the successful industrialization of new food product
    • Passion for the creation of new and exciting products
    • Self-starter that is naturally curious and enjoys working in a fast-paced innovation centric environment
    • Proficiency in FDA labeling requirements and ability to provide or determine regulatory expertise inputs needed for new products
    • Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Strong project management skills
