Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots problems with processes and hardware.
  • Plans preventive maintenance: Electrical enclosures, transducers, VFD drives.
  • Wire installation, and terminations.
  • Design develop and maintain plant floor electrical, control and pneumatic components including vision systems, valves, motors, loop controllers, solenoids, and control system IO (Flex and Point IO).
  • Perform basic network diagnostics (Ethernet IP).
  • Manages relations with vendors.
  • Document Startup processes and designs of mechanical and electrical systems for production equipment.
  • Calibrating pressure, temperature, and flow transducers.
  • Technical expert, on the floor diagnosing, troubleshooting, and eliminating any type of maintenance issues.
  • Effectively trouble shoot all; pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues as required and make all necessary repairs safely and effectively.
  • Provides mentorship and skills training to technicians as needed.
  • Safely perform preventative checks, service and repairs on equipment as needed. 
  • Review machine issues with other mechanics, operators, leads, Supervisors, Managers, etc. and communicate solutions/progress/completion.
  • Ability to always work safely and proficiently with little to no supervision. 
  • Utilize maintenance software to track labor hours, locate components, parts issued and cost for equipment.
  • Navigate through machinery operational and maintenance manuals to understand equipment functionality as well as ability to locate replacement parts. 
  • Perform Preventative, Predictive, and Corrective maintenance successfully.
  • Ensure proper execution of the maintenance passdown notes, CMMS data entry and creation of maintenance corrective action/follow-up work orders.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with all employees and management personnel.
  • Identify changes in dimensional requirements of machines/parts by inspecting utilizing tape measure, caliper, etc. and making corrective repairs needed in a timely manner. 
  • Minimize downtime by communicating issues with production/maintenance to make repairs during properly provided downtime.
  • Maintain a clean work area and safe work environment. 
  • Perform lock out/tag out as outlined by company policy.
  • Always follow company GMP Policy guidelines 
  • Operate hand tools, general power tools, testing equipment and other related machinery.
  • Maintain a clean working environment and sanitize tools as required in GMP documentation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 4 to 6 years of work experience in a related field
  • Proficient with Wonder Ware InTouch, Factory Talk View ME
  • Proficient with Allen Bradley Logix 5000, and studio 5000.
  • Practical experience with operation of condensers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, motors, and drives.
  • Understanding all critical control points (CCP) and their functions for relevant processes.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving acumen
  • Ability to interpret and implement specifications. 
  • Solid understanding of AC/DC circuits
  • Preferred basic understanding operation of boilers, steam systems, air compressors, Water systems and electrical power distribution centers.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend over, climb stairs and ladders, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to operator power tools safety/efficiently  
  • Understanding of Pasteurizers, Homogenizers, and general pump mechanics, (e.g., PD, Centrifugal)  
  • Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic controls 
  • Basic understanding of electrical components/controls  
  • Attention to detail when performing all aspects of job. 
  • Able to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues and make adjustments/repairs necessary. 
  • Identify and locate machinery/facility parts for repairs. 
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals/drawings/schematics. 
  • Able to Work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Tolerate required personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, work gloves, safety glasses, ear protection.
  • Must be prompt and able to manage time proficiently.
