Overview

Position Summary 

We’re looking to hire a talented, self-motivated individual for a full-time summer internship that will support our Commercial Finance Team with analyzing financial data, assessing business performance, and contributing to strategic decision-making processes. This role will directly interact with key internal partners and provide exposure to various aspects of commercial finance, including revenue analysis, pricing & promo optimization, and financial planning.

 

Learning Outcomes 

By the end of the internship, you will:

  • Have a solid understanding of Commercial Finance within a CPG organization
  • Understand the dynamics of different distribution channels and retailers
  • Utilize syndicated data platforms to pull data, analyze, and draw insights
  • Learn to analyze and optimize trade spend strategies to maximize ROI
  • Generate insights through analyzing the effectiveness of promotional activities
  • Develop effective presentation skills to communicate data/insights and recommendations in a team setting

Responsibilities

 Pricing and Promotion Reporting

  • Develop and enhance competitive pricing transparency with the sales organization
  • Report on weekly pricing and promotional activity at top retail accounts

 

Promotional Analysis Project

  • Evaluate current competitive landscape and identify competitor presence in the category
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and promo effectiveness
  • Conduct a comprehensive comparison analysis of competitive promotional activities
  • Develop an introduction promo strategy for new product launches in the category
  • Present findings and recommendation to the Commercial Finance Team and Sales Leadership

Qualifications

  • Candidates are typically pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with large data sets
  • Excellent attention to details with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent follow through and task completion
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player, ability to work with diverse cross-functional teams
  • Problem solver, able to work independently to produce quality results
  • Thrives in fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

 

Salary: $22.00/hour
