Overview

The Batching Operator is responsible for batching activities that must be performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Blend batches per the run scheduled/order.
  • Pasteurization process (up to 3 systems simultaneously, CIP and cleaning of equipment)
  • Fill out daily logs, (CIP, batch sheet, pasteurize record/wheel chart, etc.)
  • Data entry into Redzone
  • Data entry into the Ross System
  • Keeping accurate records, track of ingredients and batch sheets
  • Effectively communicate issues and operations with Plant Management.
  • Assist Shift Lead and Supervisor as assigned.
  • Operate the plant in a safe & efficient manner.
  • Follow and monitor GMP, HACCP guidelines, Injury & Illness Prevention Program, Food Safety & SOPs procedures.
  • Develops and maintains positive and professional relationships with all supervisors, leads, employees, and management.
  • Assist maintenance on PM’s of equipment, rebuild of valves, replace valve gaskets. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years in any type of processing industry
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend over, climb stairs and ladders and lift/move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, multitask and time management
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide into all units of measure.
  • Must be able to follow and communicate directions.
  • Mechanical Aptitude 
  • Forklift Certification
  • Primary shift will be assigned however applicants must be flexible to work any shift.
  • Preference will be given to individuals that process high energy, proven positive track record and those that are already trained to run the various pieces of equipment.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English is a must. Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and Redzone applications.

This position is classified as Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime). The expected hourly rate for this position is between $21.00 – $26.00 per year based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting the actual hourly rate.
