Overview

The Warehouse Lead Operator is responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to support warehouse operations. This includes efficiently loading and unloading ingredients, packaging, and finished goods, identifying and communicating potential issues promptly, and maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and sanitary work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary daily point of contact for the Inventory Control Coordinator and Logistics Coordinator to discuss and review assignments.
  • Develop and organize the warehouse agenda, incorporating sales data, scheduled shipments, FIFO inventory practices, schedule adherence, and updates on any changes to the schedule.
  • Compile and produce reports detailing shipment and receipt volumes, material consumption, losses, and other key warehouse metrics.
  • Utilize the ROSS ERP system to calculate efficiency metrics, including the volume and types of items shipped and received, scrap rates, material usage, frequency of shortages or errors, and the productivity of workers and departments.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of shipping and receiving information by verifying all relevant data.
  • Collaborate with daily management to promote accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement in warehouse deliveries, shipments, and production usage.
  • Maintain and organize all documents and reports related to warehouse operations.
  • Support efforts to ensure safe working conditions for all employees by assisting with safety protocols and practices.
  • Foster and sustain positive, professional relationships with visitors, employees, and management to promote effective teamwork.
  • Facilitate daily communication and updates for Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics functions to ensure smooth operational coordination.
  • Perform safety and quality assurance inspections to identify and resolve issues or damage.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Department to facilitate sample pulling.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of all activity logs.
  • Provide support to cross-functional departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Facilitate and conduct training sessions for both new hires and existing employees.
  • Address service complaints, including resolving issues related to shortages and lost shipments.
  • Ensure adherence to Loading Procedures and Requirements for smooth and compliant operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support overall warehouse functions.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2–3 years of warehouse experience is essential.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating Crown Stand-Up Forklifts is mandatory.
  • Must obtain forklift certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
  • Physical capability to stand, kneel, bend, climb stairs and ladders, and lift or move items up to 50 pounds is necessary.
  • The ability to understand and thoroughly follow directions is critical.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal abilities are a must.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing across all units of measure, is required.
  • Experience with ROSS and basic computer knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience with the RedZone system is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs and experience with scan guns is preferred
