Overview

The Jr Maintenance Mechanic is an entry level position to support maintenance activities such as routine maintenance, assisting experience mechanics with equipment breakdowns, proper use of CMMS, daily plant rounds, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Hybrid support Production/Maintenance as required.
  • Creating and completing work order requests by properly using CMMS.
  • Follows and monitors GMP, HACCP, IIPP, Food Safety and SOPs guidelines.
  • Communicates and supports resolving plant issues with lead mechanics and Planning Supervisor to ensure issues are addressed.
  • Performs daily rounds after 30-day completion training with utilities technician.
  • First line of defense with filling, packaging, processing issues.
    • Gathering details surrounding issues, communicating with maintenance team, and working with experienced mechanics to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Works safely adhering to proper LOTO procedures.
  • Performs maintenance duties to prevent, improve and streamline process during scheduled maintenance activities under direction from maintenance leads.
  • Ensures equipment is conditioned and maintained to meet or exceed quality and customer expectations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned should the need arise.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Food/Beverage processing facility Industry in a Maintenance or production capacity. Any other related technical training a plus.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English is a must, some Spanish a plus.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems
  • Basic understanding of AC and DC electrical circuits.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend over, climb stairs and ladders and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess basic mechanical, electrical, communication and people skills.
  • Must be able to follow and communicate clear directions.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure and compute rate, ratio and percentage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs
  • Must be able to manage time proficiently.
