Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for maintaining machinery, utilities, and the facility in a safe manner.
• Safely perform preventative checks and services on assigned equipment.
• Review machine issues with mechanics, operators, Supervisors, Managers, etc. and communicate solutions/progress/completion
• Utilize maintenance software to track labor hours and repairs needed on equipment
• Navigate through machinery operational and maintenance manuals to understand equipment functionality as well as locate parts
• Perform Preventative, Predictive, and Corrective maintenance successfully and autonomously
• Establish and maintain working relationships with all employees
• Provide daily detailed reporting of equipment/facility issues, very descriptive and detailed.
• Assemble and build machine mechanical components
• Troubleshoot through pneumatic control issues and make repairs necessary
• Identify changes in dimensional requirements of machines/parts by inspecting utilizing tape measure, caliper, etc. and making corrective repairs needed in a timely manner
• Minimize downtime by communicating issues with production/maintenance to make repairs during proper provided downtime windows.
• Identify issues by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments such as vibration pen/ultrasound devices.
• Maintain operation of condensers/cooling towers
• Understanding and maintain operation of boiler
• Maintain a clean work area and safe work environment
• Perform lock out/tag out
• Follow company GMP Policy guidelines at all times
• Operate hand tools and maintain them clean
• Lubricate machinery as per manufacturing specifications
• Perform utility rounds and properly document readings/issues
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• High School Diploma
• Industrial maintenance certificate (preferred)
• 2 years minimum Maintenance Mechanic experience (preferred)
• 2 years in Food Manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend over, climb stairs and ladders and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operator power tools safety/efficiently
• Understanding of pump mechanics, (PD, Centrifugal, etc.)
• Understanding of pneumatic controls
• Basic understanding of electrical components/controls
• Attention to detail when performing all aspects of job
• Ability to successfully rebuild and troubleshoot valves
• Able to troubleshoot mechanical issues and make adjustments/repairs necessary
• Source machinery/facility parts for repairs
• Utilize maintenance software system (MVP One), Microsoft office, and Word
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals/drawings
